This project was determined by a very complex brief with complicated requirements for the functional and layout design of the building. The interconnected links between several offices, bedrooms and the common living space predetermined the mass of the building, with the different functional units arranged on the site according to their priority.
As the building was requested as a multi-generational building, it was necessary to ensure the division of individual apartments – objects. Each member of the relatively large family had their own requirements and it was necessary to ensure privacy requirements while maintaining the possibility of communal gatherings in the house. All of the proposed spaces are south-facing and draw on the generous, conveniently oriented site.
Multi-generational homes are a major challenge in terms of concept, but also technology and operational requirements. The needs of all family members need to be mapped out in great detail to ensure that everyone enjoys the comfort, privacy, and joy of being able to gather together on the same lot.
